This cultivar is from the group of Japanese plums or Japanese hybrids and its origin is in the United States. This cultivar is self-fertile (does not need pollinator) but the presence of pollinator increases the quantity and quality of fruit. Irrigation, especially in young plum trees, causes undesirable growth of trees and reduces the vegetative and reproductive power of the tree.
